Growing Indoors – Lidl Special – Part 1
So i was quite happily shopping in Lidl and i spotted those herb pots on a shelf hidden away in a corner. Decided to buy 1 of each, Corriander, Oregano and Rosemary and give them a try.
This is the first of a few posts about this.
- To start i unpacked everything. As you can see in the following picture the pot contains two round “Compressed potting compost”, a pack of seeds and one black elastic band (to old several pots together).
- Next i put some gravel in the base (to help with drainage) and added the the compressed potting compost and 350ml of luke warm water (as per the instructions).
- Next i added the seeds and a handful of compost (the instructions advise to add 0.5cm of seedling soil that is not provided!)
- Once all 3 where done I added some clingfilm on top (as per instructions) and put them on a window sill where there will be good light and warmth.
I’ll let you know how i get on very soon.

Looks great! You do pick up some great random stuff in Lidl. However a quick look at their website says we’re in for only Santa related specials in the near future.

Very true. They are still selling a lot of fruit trees, i did try and get a cherry one for my balcony but it did not look to happy in a pot so i moved it to the in-laws garden and it’s doing well so far! Well as far as the Christmas stuff goes that is the case everywhere, i think Brown Thomas started around August!
